Genre #2: Satirical Article

Satirical articles can be extremely effective in critically analyzing flaws in a light, joking manner. Many popular satirical articles come from The Onion, a satirical organization, and more often than not transform the original topic and highlight any negative aspects through comedy. For my remediation in paper 2, I have taken a similar manner with a purpose of displaying the negative aspects of Silicon Valley through a satirical article. Many people build up the idea of Silicon Valley and get wrapped up in the fantasy without considering the realistic ideals.

The primary audience for this article is intended to be wider than the other genre remediations. Although this has a more defined purpose, to inform those with an alternative opinion of how Silicon Valley might not provide the best resources and benefits, it is open to an audience of all perspectives. The style of the article could be described as abrupt as it shows that even a recent 4.0 college graduate from Stanford University, one of the leading research Universities in the world located close to Silicon Valley, may not even become successful despite the extensive precautions taken to prepare for surviving in Silicon Valley.
